Fear and Speedbumps: A Music Update

“Always do what you are afraid to do.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Yea, this whole making an album thing? It's intense, scary, exciting, fascinating, and one hell of a roller coaster. Add that to other life events, and you get one crazy journey. I'm in the middle, and here's a little update for you.

A quick rundown of the video:

1) Watch the new music video, BOLD!

2) Listen to the new single, CREEP!

3) Let’s get real about the challenges of creating an album.

There have been a lot of speed bumps with creating this album, and there has been a lot of fear about finishing it in time. Emerson once said,

“Always do what you’re afraid to do.”

In some ways, I’m very good at that. I dare myself to try new things as much as I can, but when it comes to doing something I’m really passionate about or something that is really close to my heart, the fear seems to be much bigger. It has more of a history, more skeletons in the closet, more baggage if you will. So how do you overcome this? One way I’ve found to move past the fear is to simply keep moving forward.

Always take a step towards your dreams, regardless of the feelings that you may have at any given moment, on any given day.

If you can find the passion, the strength, and your reason why you’re doing what you’re doing, you can take a small step towards your dream every single day.

This album has had many challenges, from production to finding people to work with, from practicing to performing. There have also been huge accomplishments, like finishing the music video for a Bold, receiving press, getting a spot on an online radio, and receiving tons of support from friends and fans.

Sometimes we need to do what’s uncomfortable to get to the other side. Today, I choose to do what I’m afraid to do because I know it will get me closer to what I desire.

Till next y’all,

CPIII
