The Man Behind the Music
Charles Peoples III (CPIII) is a California born and raised performance artist with a unique sound that is influenced by many styles of music. He has opened for well known spiritual teachers such as Iyanla Vanzant of the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN) and has been tagged as “a big talent” by Wayne Sanders, founder of Opera Ebony: “As a performer, [CPIII] has an innate quality that you cannot teach, only guide. And in time, he will make the world smile.”
With a beginning in Musical Theater, Charles has more than 10 years of professional experience on the stage. He received a BA in Musical Theater at Sarah Lawrence College in New York. While remaining in the Big Apple, Charles continued to perform in many cabarets, concerts, and shows, including a debut on Off Broadway. He currently resides in the Bay Area, where he is pursuing a Masters in Vocal Performance while continuing to perform new works throughout the area.
Engaging in the art forms of sound, dance, and videography, CPIII explores visual storytelling to raise awareness, demand social justice, and cultivate self-love through live performance. His work focuses on creating a compassionate, vulnerable space that allows inner healing to take place. Esteemed author and poet, Rickey Laurentiis, said that “one could only describe his method throughout a song as graceful, [and] powerful in just the fact that it was subtly handled.” CPIII believes that performance can heal, both the audience and the performer, and open the doors to profound self-discovery, acceptance, and love.
